This hand routine saved my drumming
In this video, I share a life-saving drumming routine that helped me overcome injuries like tendonitis, a popped vein, and early carpal tunnel in the mid-2000s. This routine, learned from a hand doctor and other percussionists, includes warmups, stretches, massages, and after-practice care to keep your hands healthy and improve your drumming technique. Follow along as I demonstrate each step, from warming up with drumming play-alongs to stretching your forearms, hands, and fingers. I also show you how to massage your muscles for relaxation and recovery tips to reduce swelling after practice. For marching drummers, I reveal a bonus stretch that could change your life.
