Stay Tuned for Even More Content in 2023
In this short episode I give a preview for what I’ll be doing in 2023 and provide some simple ways that you can help support the free content I create.

Welcome back to another episode of the
CSK8 podcast my name is Jared O'Leary
each week of this podcast is typically
an interview with a guest or multiple
guests or a solo episode where I unpack
some scholarship in relation to Computer
Science Education this week's episode is
going to be a little bit different
instead I'm going to chat with you about
some changes in 2023 that are coming up
as many of you have probably already
noticed in previous episodes I mentioned
that at the end of 2022 I was leaving
Buddha professional development to
pursue content creation full-time on my
website jaredleary.com and on my YouTube
channel at Tara deliri I'm going to be
focusing on three areas of content
primarily Computer Science Education
both with this podcast and some scratch
resources as well as continuing gaming
and drumming stuff that I was doing in
my leisure at the time of the recording
there's about 1200 hours of drumming
content on my website all free and a
bunch of gaming content as well and now
I'm going to focus even more on creating
Computer Science Education content so
stay tuned for that if you've enjoyed
the free content that I've been creating
and would like to support in some way
there are many ways that you can
actually do that here are 10 quick and
easy ways that you can support most of
which which are 100 free one thing that
you can do to that would really help me
is simply share the content that I
create on social media or directly to
another person that you know who might
enjoy it I'm sure you know another CS
educator or a drummer or a gamer who
might be interested in my content or
just simply share it on like Twitter
LinkedIn whatever second thing that you
can do is just follow or subscribe on
any social media platform that I'm on
there are links to those in the socials
tab on my website third thing that you
could do is just simply press the like
button on whatever platform that you're
on if you see some of my content let me
know if you enjoy it by pressing that
button or you could even comment or chat
with me live so leave a comment in any
of the videos or the posts that I create
or join me during a live stream when I'm
gaming or drumming and chat with me all
of these things with the likes and the
comments and whatnot increases the
engagement score for that content which
makes it more likely that those
platforms will share that content with
other people the fifth thing that you
could do is just simply leave a review
of this podcast on whatever platform
you're listening to this on the RSS feed
says that there are roughly between 18
and 20 000 people who listen to this
podcast on each month and I've only got
a few reviews on Apple podcasts and how
I think there are more of you or maybe
everybody's listening is on Android PC
Etc which are my preferred platform
sixth thing that you can do is if you're
watching any of the content on YouTube
watch the whole thing the higher
percentage that people watch it the more
likely YouTube will share it with others
and speaking of I'm going to be
experimenting with this podcast by doing
more video content other than just audio
we'll see how that increases the
engagement across the different
platforms and with the excerpts that
I'll share seventh thing that you can do
is recommend so you can recommend to me
some videos that I could create around
CS education or some podcasts that I
could do like hey Jared I'd really like
to hear you talk about blah cool I can
do an episode on blur or you could
recommend a guest even if it's yourself
now that I finally don't have
contractors banging hammers literally
above my head I can actually record some
more interviews with people so if you'd
like to be a guest or you'd like to
recommend a guest press the contact me
button on my website let me know the
eighth thing that you could do is there
are affiliate links related to my gaming
and drumming content so like if you want
to know what kind of computer or
keyboard or drumsticks I use or whatever
just go to the Gear I use page under the
gaming and the drumming content and
click on any of those affiliate links
and I get a very small Kickback at no
extra cost to you the ninth thing you
can do if you would like to there's a
merch store on my website I haven't
really talked about it on here because
it's mainly just gaming and drumming
merch and some non-binary merch as well
if any of that sounds interesting to you
check out jaredelier.com merch and I get
a percentage of the sales and you get
some awesome merch and the 10th thing
that you can do if you'd like to sponsor
this podcast either a single episode or
several episodes or even some upcoming
instructional videos relevant to
Computer Science Education or hey even
in the drumming stuff if you want just
press the contact me button and let me
know happy to chat I'm honestly really
excited about 2023 but again I'd really
like to know what you'd like to learn
more about with Computer Science
Education I can find some papers and
talk about it or find some awesome
guests that you might recommend and talk
to them about whatever topics are
interesting to you this is episode 167
so I just want to say like thank you to
everybody who's listened over the last
couple years that I've done this podcast
thank you to everybody who has checked
out all of the free resources that I
created at boot up professional
development I wish that team well stay
tuned next week for another episode and
a bunch more content that's gonna be
popping up on my website in the near
future but until then I hope you're all
staying safe and are having a wonderful
week
